The dental practice of Dr. White and Dr. Raney has been operating in downtown Columbia next to the City Hall since 1973. Now one of the oldest dental practices in Monroe County, it has grown continually through the years to become one of the largest as well, serving several thousand patients. The office was founded in 1973 by John E. White, D.D.S. In 1984 Stephen J. Raney, D.M.D., joined the practice. Bailey M. Walker, D.M.D. joined the practice in 2014. Through the years the doctors have kept up-to-date on dental materials and methods. They have incorporated current procedures, equipment and materials that are predictable and reliable. Some examples include: diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and pain, composites used in tooth-colored fillings, all-ceramic crowns, various tooth whitening methods, dental implants, periodontal (gum) treatment, night-guards for clenching and grinding, and digital x-rays. As a result, the care of their patients is a combination of traditional established methods of diagnosis and craftsmanship with state-of-the-art instruments and materials to achieve a high-quality end result.
There are always those cases that are extremely complex or for various reasons difficult to diagnose and/or treat. In those circumstances, the doctors will do what is in the best interest of the patient and refer them to their excellent and trusted network of dental specialists who will provide the best care possible.
The office staff also has a well-established history. Most of the staff members have been with the practice over ten years, and many have worked here over 20 years. The members of the staff are truly concerned with providing friendly and caring service to patients. All assistants and hygienists have had the proper training required to perform quality care. Our hygienists are board-certified, licensed and current with continuing education.
